Compliant containers
Vapes taken back under a distributor take-back obligations should be stored in a compliant container.
This makes acceptance of the vapes by the PCS into the system easier and also ensures that the distributor will not be rejected when trying to deliver vapes into the system.
The industry standard containers are as follows:

This is a fire rated receptacle which can be placed at the point of sale for vape users to discard their end of life vapes
UN Drum

A 30 or 60 litre drum which can used to store and transport end of life vapes, often lined and filled with vermiculite to reduce the risk of fire spreading should a vape battery ignite due to thermal run-away on the battery
UN Pallet box

approved for transport of vapes and is usually used for
large volumes of vapes at Distribution centres
The distributor is obliged to purchase/source a compliant container at their own expense.
